President (Term: The President is a two year term of office. An individual may serve two consecutive terms in this office.)

Tanna is an employee benefits consultant for Lockton Companies and has been active in the Nevada benefits community for more than 16 years.  As a senior vice president for Lockton, Tanna is responsible for managing a team of benefit experts who work with clients to manage the costs of health care programs, keeping programs in compliance with state and federal regulations and communicating the value of benefit plans to employees.  Clients include governmental entities, gaming and hotel businesses, tech companies and large automobile dealerships.

Tanna has served as the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference, and has been recognized within the industry as both a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, and a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI).  Tanna has been serving on the RCC board in a variety of capacities since 2008.

Michael Benshimon

Treasurer (Term: The Treasurer is a one year term of office. An individual may serve up to four consecutive terms in this office.)

Michael joined the Board of Directors in August 2016. He currently serves at the VP Senior Wealth Manager with BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Michael grew up in the Las Vegas Area and holds a BSBA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Michael serves a number of organizations in the community in addition to The Rape Crisis Center, including Boys and Girls Clubs and the Jewish Federation. Michael is a part of the Leadership Las Vegas class of 2017.

SueKroftSusan Kroft

Secretary (Term: The Secretary is a one year term of office. An individual may serve up to four consecutive terms in this office.)

Sue Kroft has a 35-year background in health care and marketing.  In 2005, she retired from Universal Health Network/Nevada Preferred Professionals PPO where she served as Director of Operations for Southern Nevada. Sue is originally from Hawaii and has been in Las Vegas with her husband for over 20 years.  Together they have six children and 12 grandchildren. Sue has been actively assisting The Rape Crisis Center since 2011 with setting up the medical billing and credentialing the professional staff for the Signs of Hope Counseling Center, and joined the Board of Directors in the summer of 2013.

 

Shan Bates-Bundick

Member (Term: Members of the Board of Directors serve a four year term.  There is no limit on the number of terms a member can serve.)

Shan Bates-Bundick joins the board of The Rape Crisis Center with a wealth of experience and background in Marketing and Branding. Shan holds a BBA in Marketing from Baylor University. She is a member of the Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2017. After moving to Las Vegas, Shan worked with R&R Partners, and in 2016 launched her own marketing company. Shan joined the Board of Directors in early 2017.

Elaina Bhattacharyya

Elaina Bhattacharyya currently serves as the Events Manager within the President’s office at Nevada State College, and has been working in various positions in Nevada’s system of higher education for more than a decade. Elaina’s background is in publishing, marketing and event management. She hails from Canada, but has been in Las Vegas for more than 17 years. Elaina has served in several board and volunteer positions, including with the CASA Foundation, March of Dimes, and the Las Vegas Urban Chamber. Elaina holds a BA from McGill University and an MPA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Rhonda Check is the Vice President of Individual and Exchange membership for UnitedHealthcare’ s NV Market, which includes Health Plan of Nevada and Sierra Health & Life Insurance Companies.  Rhonda has been a valuable employee within the organization for more than 25 years.  During this time, she has held a series of increasingly responsible positions including Sales Manager and Sales Director for Sierra Health Services prior to the merger with UnitedHealthcare.

She is also a graduate of Leadership Las Vegas, Class of 2006.

Rhonda’s association with The Rape Crisis Center continues to be a source of pride both personally and professionally.

Bev Darrow

Member (Term: Members of the Board of Directors serve a four year term.  There is no limit on the number of terms a member can serve.)

Currently retired, Bev comes to The Rape Crisis Center board with a wealth of experience in the non-profit and education sectors. Bev relocated to Las Vegas from New Mexico and before that raised her family and worked in Wisconsin. Bev has worked with a number of domestic violence agencies and shelters. Her education includes a BS in Education from Indiana University and an MS from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.

Toby Hyman joined the Board of Directors in February 2016, after retiring from the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. Toby was instrumental in the expansion and management of the state of Nevada’s Family Resource Centers. Prior to her work with the State, Toby worked in the arena of child abuse prevention with WE CAN. Toby’s lifelong passion has been around child abuse prevention and increased services to the children and families of Las Vegas.

Gabrielle Jones

Gabrielle Jones is the Deputy Directing Attorney for the Family Justice Project at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. Gabrielle comes from Baton Rouge, LA. She has been in the Las Vegas area since 2008. Gabrielle has a passion for serving women and children at risk. Gabrielle holds a double BA in Government and Sociology and a JD. She is a member of the bar in Louisiana, Nevada, and Washington D.C. Gabrielle also enjoys teaching and has been a part of many distinguished panels and presentations throughout the community.

 

Renee Rivera-Shaffer

Member (Term: Members of the Board of Directors serve a four year term.  There is no limit on the number of terms a member can serve.)

Renee has been working as the Compliance Officer for the TAO Group since 2012. Prior to that, Renee served as the Deputy Chief for the Enforcement Division of the Nevada Gaming Control Board for more than 25 years, and for four years as an Enforcement Agent with Clark County Business License. Renee holds a BA in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Renee is extremely passionate about preventing sexual assault and developing partnerships with the Clubs and Casino Properties to keep everyone safe. Renee joined the Board of Directors in the summer of 2015.

Jodi Tyson

Jodi Tyson has spent 20 years in community-based health and human services, most recently as the Government Affairs Director at Three Square Food Bank. Jodi has been a passionate advocate regarding violence against women, having worked to create the first statewide coalition against sexual violence in Nevada. Jodi received her Masters in Public Health from UNLV in 2006. Jodi is an appointed member on several government boards including the Governor’s Council on Food Security and the Henderson Strong Advisory Board for the decennial urban plan. Jodi joined the Board of Directors in the spring of 2015.
