There are many ways for businesses to get involved in supporting the work of Signs of Hope.
Employee Giving:
Workplace income deduction plans are a helpful and effective way to support Signs of Hope. Whether through a workplace direct giving program, United Way designations, or other opportunity to make a designation to Signs of Hope, these regular gifts of any size are so valuable to us. Even small contributions add up overtime. These contributions help provide match to federal grants, help support clothing, transportation, and phones for clients, and provide other key support to our work. Employee donors are provided with the SOH’s monthly newsletter and invited to “donor only” events.
In-kind contributions:
Want to get your business name or product featured and support Signs of Hope at the same time? Providing in-kind donations of products or services for our clients, volunteers and staff or offering for raffle or auction for an event are great ways to help introduce your business to a new audience!
Other in-kind contributions can include your workplace organizing a drive for small denomination gift cards to grocery stores, restaurants, or gas for clients in need. Drives of new underwear, socks, hygiene items, diapers, and non-perishable food can also be a great support for clients. These kinds of drives are also a great way to build morale at work while making a positive difference in the community. Are you one of our volunteers? Ask if your workplace will do a cash match for your volunteer time – many local and national companies offer this type of match.
Event sponsorships:
Signs of Hope holds two main events each year – “A Night Out” cocktail event in the Fall and “Denim Day” in the last week of April. There are sponsorship opportunities ranging from $250 to $10,000 for these events. Sponsors and sponsorships are acknowledged in a variety of ways, from recognition in event programs and signage to sponsor logos being featured on the SOH website for up to one year.
Even though we are not holding an event this year for Denim Day due to COVID 19, we encourage businesses to consider special Survivor Sponsorships of $500 and SAAM Champion Sponsorships of $1500 to support survivor stories and art being featured on our website and social media during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), as well as our activities throughout SAAM and efforts to raise awareness of these critical issues.
Business volunteer opportunties:
If you are interested in a group volunteer opportunity for your business, we can offer some unique options to provide organizational assistance, client encouragement, or other activities to engage your team in helping SOH and our clients.
Round-up or allow donation opportunities:
If you have a local business, give customers an opportunity to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, offering the rounded up change as a donation to Signs of Hope. Other options would include having a donation box or bin near the register to encourage donations or ask patrons if they want to make a $1 or $5 contribution that can be added to each purchase. These small contributions add up when many individuals are offered the opportunity to give.
