Law Enforcement

*If you need to report an assault in progress, or are injured after an assault and need an ambulance, please call EMERGENCY 9-1-1.

*If you have been the victim of an assault and need to report it to the police, but you are not actively in danger or injured at the time of the call, please call NON-EMERGENCY 3-1-1.

*Please note that the crime will be investigated by the jurisdiction and law enforcement authority for where the assault took place, NOT where the victim lives, if the two are different. It is important you let law enforcement know this as soon as possible.  For example, if you live in Henderson, but were assaulted at a party in Las Vegas, The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department would investigate the crime.

The School-Based Advocate is a dedicated individual available to assist victims of assault, abuse, or harassment who are enrolled in any K-12 school in Clark County, and their families. The School-Based Advocate can help victims and their families navigate the reporting process at their school, ensure that appropriate actions are taken to investigate and address reports, and assist with safety planning. They can also assist with escalating reports to higher authorities in the event that an initial report is improperly handled.

The Family Justice Center is a resource for victims of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking. The FJC houses a number of different services all in one location. At the FJC, you can access: 

  • Advocacy
  • Safety planning resources
  • Information on Legal issues or meet with a lawyer
  • Immigration assistance for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
  • Temporary Protection Orders
  • Access LVMPD Victim Advocates
  • Access LVMPD Domestic Violence Detectives

The FJC is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Victims do not have to make a report to law enforcement in order to access
